the art of a good dump
sheraton kowloon
those who've seen my helsinki pics over shutterfly would probably suspect my fixation with well-designed bathrooms. as unglam as it sounds, i've a weakness for marble and glass which's deemed "ordinary" by many. but i love mosaics too! i loved hotel kamp the way i l loved sheraton in kowloon and the shang in kl. the bath is the most important aspect of any hotel room for ms bee. even her well-behaved bowels recognise that and would maintain its decorum by withholding "stuff" until the next decent toilet comes along so her owner ain't have to spend time holding her breath and laying countless rolls of toilet paper across the bowl. disclaimer: excludes tragic cases of uncontrolled spurts brought on by food poisoning.
wish i could bring finnish and japanese public hygiene to singapore. esp to the morons who:
- make their kids step on toilet bowls ledges and not bothering to wipe the shoe prints off
- pee over the toilet seat. excuse me but we're all females so how can YOU possibly pee all over the place...unless you too were standing on the toilet edge???!
- don't flush properly. is it so terribly hard to hang round for a wee two more seconds to ensure all your stuff's being flushed down properly and no little bits floating around?
- dispose of sanitary pads properly. eh, what on earth makes you think the rest of the world enjoys your bloody sight?
we're not a third country where at times people are still not exposed to modern city lifestyles yadda yadda. this is singapore. if you can keep your house spick and span, i don't see why you can't keep the public toilets clean.
