ran into good ole herbie at kaychin's exhibition last night. it's been eons since they met (when the hell was the last lunch at obrien's??) and boy did they catch up. it's funny how the two of them always had something to yak about, the kind where you feel totally comfortable and know you're on the same wavelength? they spent a good part of the evening updating each other on their relationships (haha), religon (damn uncanny how they're both going through the same phase), work and common (plus psycho) friends.nice.

she woke feeling happy....despite fretting badly last night over the swollen lymph node glands and the horrible possibility of contracting cancer or some tumor. there's nothing much she can do till the blood test results next week.
...despite being relegated to AE status by some other cock colleague who so happens to turn out to be the haolian wife of some ex client. sheesh! fucking helluva small world if you ask her.
...despite worrying bout the shitloads of "urgent" timelines to meet when her last day at the agency is in fact next tuesday. urgent is a relative term in this industry. everything is like bloody due yesterday.

about silly people
for some crazy reason, some colleague from her agency met a friend of ms bee's (dunno who la) at a "wedding". the colleague thought me bee was some junior suit just cos she hangs out with her good friend V who's an AE. what kind of assumption is that?so if she hangs out with creatives, does it mean she's a creative?
or if she lunches with the account directors, does that automatically elevate her position?
or perhaps if she was seen chatting with the cleaning auntie very often, does that make her a relative?

the one with the mislead footspa
went for a supposed complimentary footspa at some newly opened spa place at taka. despite the thought of fending off eager beaver sales pitches/ consultants (nothing is for free right?), she took it up anyway cos she's a sucker for foot anything (pedi, reflexogies, spa and what have yous).after three smses and a phone call reminder from THE spa, she made extra effort to be there 15min before the scheduled appointment thinking that they must be really packed back to back and cannot afford to have anyone late.
that was not the case however.
consultant: hello ms belynda, we're very sorry but the footspa will not be available until 45min later. would you like to have a back massage or facial instead?
ms bee: huh? i'm early for my appointment and you're telling me there're no available slots when you've supposedly reserved the footspa for me a week ago?
consultant: yeah, i'm very sorry but ...can we offer you the back massage?
ms bee: and i was so looking forward to it especially since you guys have been so enthusiatic in reminding me to come on time today.
(thinking): oh, so it's a case of the spa overbooking/ overpromising no? what the hell, it's free so she's not gonna make an issue out of it. back massage it is then.
apparently she's not the only one with ruffled feathers. as she was walking out, she overheard a disgrunted husband telling the staff off for making his wife wait 45 min for the footspa appointment when they got there on time too.
decor and ambience was really impressive, and the massage wasn't too bad either.
but really guys, if your objective is customer acquisition through complimentary services, she would expect YOU TO WORK harder at the basics. like getting requests right and have some decency to let your potential paying customers know early if you're not able (for some lame reason or another) to fulfil that request.
and by doing that, you've just lost a potential customer. singapore's small and the industry's competitive so if that's the way you wanna handle your business, good luck to you and your team.

a new low
being an only child, she's used to doing things her way. getting lost her way. eating her way. working her way. laughing her way. dealing with things her way.and sometimes, it never occurred to her to put others before herself.
and it's made her shameless.
she's upset cos she's always thinking of herself. of her own inconveniences. of her own anger. of her own frustrations. of her own happiness. that she failed to observe simple things around her and do a little something for someone else's benefit.
it's one thing to make a mistake at work but it's another to make inconsiderate stupid mistakes out of work.

of life lately
how the weekend flew by.her days are packed like sardines these days. not sure what caused the increase in her activities but she reckons it's the new home (where she's now busy terrorising the other half), attending farewell parties (sniffles for their dear celestine who's relocating to shanghai for work this sat), trying to clear her work plate as fast as possible (which doesn't seem to happen STRANGELY), and as of last saturday, effectively run a wedding on 7th october.
the latter kinda freaked her out a little cos she's not that close to the couple and yet it's remarkable how they gave her and the other half such immense trust to run the most important day of their lives. *phew* she's a time nazi so if things do go as planned, it shouldn't really be much of a worry. it certainly helps that the groom is in military and understands the concept of time management. brilliant. first time she'll be witnessing a sword ceremony at a wedding, so it's gonna be quite cool.
trying to psych herself up for the impending ORD mood but it's not happening, given how the 2mm client's constantly driving them up the wall. honestly, who the heck gives a shit if your headline is split into three lines instead of two when the proposition and product offering is not that attractive in the first place? she missed working with savvy people who believe in "not sweating the small stuff cos it's the not small things that will bring in the money."
now that's a smart client.

that's baby erica, sonja's little sweetie. she's four months now, a handful too but totally totally adorable. what amused her most last night was erica's bubbly flirty personality that attracted two year old peter's affection/ attention at the next table.
now that's something her dad has to worry bout when she gets older.

about idiots
it never fails to amaze her how low and moronic some people can go to cover their asses.in particular an instance where someone pointed out "10 oversights". after some scrutiny, it was 4 oversights. the remaining 6 were erm, changes because personal preferences are always subjective? so... in order to cover your arse and point some fingers around, you've conveniently decided to lump everything together as an oversight and get free things?
she just doesn't get it. more revisions are fine, don't want to pay extra charges fine, but don't come and fucking demand its free lah.

of the left side
for some odd reason, the vein on the left side of her neck is swelling again. and she woke up with a bad left leg cramp too. just what the fuck is wrong with the left side of her system? a bout of healthy work outs would do the body good at the rate its cramping up. she's obviously disgusted by her own lack of discipline over the past three months. this weekend's gone as well cos she needs to help the other half edit his work and spend the rest of her time working out the kinks of new home.excusesexcusesexcuses.
